What is IPTV

What is IPTV? IPTV Stands for Internet Protocol TV and represents any Video Streaming System that runs of a ethernet networking infrastructures commonly made up of network switches and CAT5 cabling. IPTV is becoming known for replacing traditional Co-Ax cable TV networks because it allows for advanced broadcasting and conditional access features. Not only does IPTV innovate traditional analog TV stations feature sets it is also much cheaper to implement in new installations. Co-Ax cabling is expensive and requires tedious cable runs. With CAT5 cabling almost all organizations have a networking infrastructure in place that can handle IPTV.

What about the bandwidth?

With HaiVision’s Makito Video encoders, H.264 compression of a High Definition 1080p Video at 30 frames per second can be compressed down to 1-2/Mbs (Megabits per second). Most networking switches being put in today are GigaBit meaning they can transmit 1000 Megabits per Second. HaiVision video encoders include bandwidth throttling capabilities to allow for maximizing the efficiency of your bandwidth and the quality of your video.
