Cloud Based Video Conferencing Services Reviewed

Bluejeans Vs Vidtel

This review has been fun digging into all the nooks and crannies of BlueJeans and Vidtel. Bluejeans and vidtel both offer similar cloud based video conferencing solutions connecting the once impossible Cisco and Polycom H.323 / SIP endpoints with web based video conferencing such as skype, google hangout, Cisco Jabber and MS lync. Both companies are based in California a fitting place for cutting edge video conferencing companies. Vidtel is known for their slogan "Any-to-Any" Video conferencing.

Features:

Bluejeans definitely wins on feature sets such as mobile device applications that allow users to not only join video conference meetings but also share presentations such as powerpoint, excel and word documents! Vidtel does have similar feature functionality although they do not provide their own iOS applications rather they provide support for mobile applications in the industry like skype and google hangout. Both Vidtel and BlueJeans offer a comparable line of interoperable systems such as: Cisco (Tandberg), Polycom, LifeSize (Logitech), Skype, Microsoft Lync, Microsoft Office Communicator, Radvision, Google Video Chat, Mirial (LifeSize - Logitech), Cisco Jabber.

Support:

Again Blue Jeans support channels are 24/7 365 as opposed to Vidtel which offers normal Mon-Friday support.

Pricing:

What Vidtel lacks in features they make up for in pricing.

In fact Vidtel offers 5 times the amount of users for the same price as one MCU from BlueJeans. Since both companies pricing is monthly recurring payments it behooves you to fully understand Vidtel's offerings in order to see if the feature set will save your company thousands of dollars a year! Vidtel also offers Pay-Per-Minute services that are great for small companies who are unsure exactly how much they will use the new technology.
